By default, your contacts are continuously imported and updated from your billing or accounting tool. Their specifics depend on your integration. You can alternatively connect your Salesforce account to your Upflow organization(s), making your CRM the source system for your contacts.
❗Upflow information will mirror those of the designated source (CRM or billing tool), so any update you want to see applied must be performed there.
If your contacts are not managed in your billing tool and you are using a CRM not yet integrated with Upflow, you can manage them directly from Upflow. This includes bulk imports and adjustments on the fly — even while sending a reminder! You can also refer to the API documentation.

When using one of the automated options, here’s what the priority order would look like, depending on the configuration you have on your end:
  1. Salesforce - as a native (secondary) integration, Salesforce data takes over API’s requests, smart rules or manual updates - user assignment only.
  2. API - If Salesforce isn’t used for contacts, and you wish to automate a behavior to update/create contacts in Upflow.
  3. Smart Rules - will overrule manual updates or CSV imports.
  4. CSV imports or Manually from the app
